Hey, you!
Glad you could make it to RenderATL 2022. Feel free to message us in discord if you have questions but make sure you read this doc before you ask; we might have already answered it. We have taken the time to gather all the essential information all in one place. The strategies and tips provided below will help you navigate the conference. The FAQ tries to answer your questions before you even ask them :)
The basics
- You do not need to go to every talk. There are a lot of fantastic speakers and fellow attendees. Make sure you schedule time to network, go to the bathroom, and to take a break.
- Speaking of breaks, TAKE BREAKS. You need time to absorb the information you learned and follow up with people you meet.
- Try to plan out the talks you want to attend ahead of time and make a backup plan. Some talks will draw more people and be at capacity by the time you get there. When the talk is full, its full.
- Try to be on time. Events have a max capacity. RSVP for evening events that require it.
- Make sure you stay hydrated. Atlanta is hot AF.
- Circling back around, make sure you eat. We have ahh-mazing food. Seriously the best conference food you will ever have. Do not skip lunch. Drink responsibly.
- Know your why. Make sure you know why you decided to attend RenderATL 2022. We are all motivated by different reasons, which influence how we navigate the conference. Examples include: to network, to get a new job, to make friends, etc.
- Ask the speakers questions. The best gems are often dropped during Q&A.
health & Safety
- COVID-19 vaccination is required before entering the venue. You must bring proof of your COVID-19 vaccination to enter the conference. We will not be doing any onsite testing and want to do our best to ensure everyone's safety.
- While this is a tech conference, we understand you might have to work. Please try to keep up with your belongings. Render will not be handling any personal belongings.
- Don't slack on your personal hygiene. Shower and look presentable (whatever that means to you), because you never know who you might meet.
- Think about wearing perfumes and colognes that are not super strong.
Networking
- Update your socials. Render conference, but it is also a community. Update your preferred socials or get some if you don't have any. You don't want to be fumbling around in person trying to figure out how Twitter works.
- Update your Linkedin! Community member Taylor Desseyn has created an entire video library for you about how to create an excellent LinkedIn.

Where is everything?
The conference is located at the Gathering Spot and will take place from June 1st, 2022 - June 3rd.
All the speaking sessions will be located at the Gathering Spot. Inside the Gathering Spot there are three stages: East Atlanta, West Atlanta, and OTP. The location of each talk can be found under the time. The speaking schedule can be found here.
For events taking place outside of the Gathering Spot, the locations are located under the name of the event. The event schedule can be found here.
I am shy, and I need help making small talk!
We don't bite, promise! But, seriously, this is a safe space. Feel free to be yourself and talk about the things that interest you. You are amongst family.
You will find that you have things in common with many different people, and that's amazing. Put yourself out there. Talk about your love for anime, lawn care, hiking, or dogs. It doesn't matter.
One more thing, imposter syndrome is not allowed here. If you see someone amazing sitting next to you, say hello. Who knows what could happen.
What time does the conference start and end?
RenderATL will begin on June 1st, 2022 at 10am with workshop sessions.
If you have not purchased workshop tickets, then the event will begin for you at 8pm that same day with the Render Roof Presented by Indeed @ Skyline Park (Ponce City Market Roof).
The conference will end on June 3rd at 5pm, with after hours events going until 2am.
What should I bring?
Ideally, as little as possible, you won't have anywhere to store your items. You will receive a tote from us at the conference, and you can use that to store your items and purchases from the gift shop.
If you bring some tech, make sure you bring your charger. Try to label your charger before the conference to avoid confusion.
What will I eat?
Now, if we told you, that would ruin the surprise. However, we can tell you that if you filled out the survey about diet during registration, your dietary concerns have been noted and included in the food plans.
Food and drinks are unlimited at Render.
Is parking free at the venue?
Yes, parking at The Gathering Spot (event center) is free for all attendees. No parking sticker/stamp is required; park wherever you want on the premises.
Where should I sit?
Anywhere that isn't blocking the flow of traffic. During the speaking sessions, try to sit in the front. It makes the speakers feel nice :)
Sample strategy for your first Render
- Join the RenderATL discord and introduce yourself.
- Think about why you want to attend Render.
- Attend the Render Roof Presented by Indeed.
- Make a schedule for talks you want to attend, making sure to schedule in breaks.
- Make some new friends.
- Post a few times on social media.
- Try to take at least 2 cool pictures with people you met at Render.
- Attend at least one evening event.
- Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate.
How can I share this on social media?
However, you want! Render can be found on Tiktok, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, etc. Tag us in your videos and posts. We would love to see them.
One caveat: we are all professionals here. No posting inappropriate pictures online. We like to keep it classy over here.
